Rich is a paramedic/firefighter originally from NC and FL but now in Kansas. He’s been wheeling since 1994 when he bought his first 4×4 that year, a 1994 Jeep YJ. While in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, he built that up and started exploring the mountains and coasts of VA and NC. He didn’t know it at the time, but that is also the year he started overlanding. Back then he used the Jeep to get to remote places and just called it camping. After selling that Jeep, he’s had two Subaru Outback Sports, a 2001 Dodge Dakota QuadCab 4×4 and a very capable 2007 Jeep JKU. Currently he’s back in another Subaru, but the main vehicle of choice when avoiding tarmac is a 2007 Kawasaki KLR650. There is another 4×4 in the plans, but it will be built very differently from what’s been done in the past. Stick around…..it’s only a year or two away.
