This is Expedition Overlands season 1 final episode! The revelations of who the guys are as Overlanders comes full circle. Travel with the guys from XO through Idaho and get ready for the biggest news yet!
I’ve had so much fun watching how Clay and his crew have grown Expedition Overland into the overlanding media powerhouse they are today since the interview back in episode 13. Episode 6 was recently released and it concludes the inaugural season of the web series. It continues to develop the characters in their crew and highlight one of my favorite areas to explore, Idaho.
Before you just click play, I recommend you set this up on a big screen, grab a drink, and prepare to be inspired as you sit back and enjoy episode 6.
Thanks to our friends over at Blue Ridge Overland Gear for pointing out this news! While I know that this photo is a complete photoshop, I’m still pretty excited about the idea of a full size SUV with some real offroad capability.
The Grand Wagoneer was produced from 1963 till 1991 when it was replaced by my beloved “downsize” Cherokee. Previous attempts at a full-size from Jeep is the Commander, which in my opinion was a failed attempt to revive the XJ.
For the revival of the Grand Wagoneer to to be a true success here’s what I think it needs to include:
V-8 Hemi or Cummins Turbo Diesel sourced from a Dodge Ram
Dana 60 front and rear axles
4-Linked front and rear suspension
Must seat 7 with room behind the seats
8 Speed automatic transmission with the ability to hold whatever gear you want
Limited Slip or e-locker differential
Real shifters with actual linkage to the transfer case
Now I have two questions for you:
Do you think the Grand Wagoneer will every actually return?
What do you think it needs to be successful?

Backseat drivers are a pain in the butt, but sometimes you just can’t avoid it. If you’re like me and have three kids, you’ve trained them pretty well to keep themselves occupied while you are navigating through complicated terrain. “Don’t mind the 300ft drop outside your window, hunny. Yes, I know where I’m going. No, we’re not going to die. Please just keep reading your book.” So now you have to keep your backseat drivers/riders occupied with fun things to do….and nowhere to put them. That’s where our world famous Molle Seat-Back Panel comes in. You hang this bad boy on the back of your seat and it serves as a sturdy anchor (and seat protector) for small, medium, and large MOLLE compatible bags that can hold all your little heart desires. Things like: chewing gum, duct tape, a game boy, a fire starter, noise makers, word search books, maps. All things that good kids love to play with. Now you can be prepared AND organized. Pouches not included. MADE RIGHT HERE IN VIRGINIA USA

I had the priveledge of spending some time in a Ford Raptor while down in Mexico for the SCORE Baja 1000. We used the Raptor as a chase truck and prerunner and it was awesome! Ford has this truck dialed in nicely for driving around town daily and is still a blast to drive out in the rough stuff. The aftermarket support for the truck is also very strong which means you can modify the truck as much as your budget will allow. While it won’t be in my budget anytime soon, I can always dream, right?!
On this short episode I try out my new digital audio recorder, talk about the GoPro 3 Silver Edition and talk about my travel plans for this weekend to San Diego and Mexico for the SCORE-International Baja 1000!
